NoChords

Privacy

Last updated 10 October 2026

NoChords has no ads, no analytics and no tracking. It keeps your songs, and only where you put them.

Who

NoChords is made by Anton Kulikov. Questions about this page, or about your data, go to help@nochords.app.

Without an account

Your songs and your settings — the theme, the metronome, the count-in — are kept in your browser's storage on your device. They are not sent anywhere. Clearing the site's data, or removing the app, deletes them.

With an account

Signing in is optional, and only there so your songs can follow you between devices.

  • Signing in goes through Firebase Authentication, a Google service, with the account you choose, and gives your NoChords account an ID:
    • Google, on the web, on Android and on iOS. Firebase receives your Google account's name, email address and profile photo link.
    • Apple, in the iOS app. Firebase receives the email address Apple gives it: your own, or — if you choose Hide My Email — a private address that Apple forwards to you. Apple may offer the app your name as well; NoChords does not pass it on or keep it.
  • Your songs are stored in Cloud Firestore, also Google's, under that ID. Only you can read or change them: the database refuses every other request, including anyone else's account.
  • Nothing else is stored about you, and nothing is shared, sold or used for advertising.

Services

NoChords relies on a few services, each handling only what its job needs, under its own privacy policy:

  • Google Firebase: sign-in, keeping your songs, and serving the web app — as any web host, it sees your IP address.
  • GitHub Pages: serves this site.
  • Cloudflare: forwards mail sent to help@nochords.app to the maker's mailbox, where it is used only to answer you.

Links out, to GitHub or Buy Me a Coffee, lead to sites with privacy policies of their own.

Deleting your data

  • A song you delete in the app is deleted from your device, and from your account if you are signed in.
  • To delete your account and everything stored with it, open the account button at the top of your songs and choose Delete account. You sign in once more to confirm, and the account and its songs are deleted for good. If you cannot reach the app, write to help@nochords.app from the address you sign in with, and it will be deleted.
  • Signing out keeps your account and its songs; it only stops this device using them.
