The app

NoChords is © 2026 Anton Kulikov. All rights reserved.

You are free to use NoChords — at songs.nochords.app, installed on your phone, or in its iOS and Android apps — without charge, for playing and learning songs.

Its source code is published on GitHub so that anyone can read it. Publishing it grants no licence to copy, modify or redistribute it, in whole or in part. To ask about using it, write to help@nochords.app.

Your songs

The songs you write in NoChords are yours. The app keeps them for you — on your device, or in your account if you sign in — and does nothing else with them. NoChords claims no rights in anything you write.

The song archive

The arrangements in the NoChords song archive are licensed under CC BY 4.0, credited to the arranger named on each song. Traditional and public-domain words and melodies belong to no one and are free as they are.

Fonts and open-source software

NoChords is built with, and gratefully uses:

  • Literata and Instrument Sans — SIL Open Font License 1.1
  • React — MIT License
  • Firebase JavaScript SDK — Apache License 2.0
  • Lucide icons — ISC License
  • Capacitor, for the iOS and Android apps — MIT License

Each remains under its own licence; the notice above covers NoChords' own code and design only.

No warranty

NoChords is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. Keep a copy of any song you could not bear to lose.
